Guiding the way to better communication

Helping every person find their voice.

We provide speech, language, literacy and social communication support for children and young adults.

With over 25 years of clinical experience in the Hamilton-Wentworth, Halton and Haldimand regions, we provide the services your child needs to find their means of expression, build their confidence, and succeed in their world.

We help parents with education and to enhance their abilities to acquire strategies to support and advocate for their child, while navigating their own parenting journey.

A Guided Approach to Growth

At Lighthouse Speech & Language, we believe that communication is the beacon that connects a child to their family, their peers, their community, and their future.

For many children, the path is not clear, or straightforward as it is for others. We get that!

We work with you to support your child; ensuring we choose meaningful goals which that make a real difference. And your child is included at any opportunity.

As an experienced clinician, Christine is a dedicated professional who helps families navigate the complexities of speech and language development as well as the educational world, as they advocate for the support of their child(ren). We take a strengths and interest-based approach to find how to best work with your child. We also take a neurodiversity-affirming, whole-child approach in our therapeutic intervention.

Our mission is to make high quality evidence-based speech and language services more accessible and convenient for families and engaging for children.

Expertise You Can Trust

A Collaborative Spirit

Empowering the Whole Child and their family

In a diverse world, one-size-fits-all therapy doesn't serve, so we combine high-level clinical expertise with a play-based encouragement approach that meets every child exactly where they are.

Sessions in your home are convenient as well as a natural environment where children typically feel most comfortable. This also allows for carryover of skills beyond the therapy session, as the children see the skills being used within a realistic setting.

As a parent, we encourage you to observe and join in. Without the hustle of appointments in a clinical setting, parents and often siblings become communication partners.

A Passion for Connection

I have always believed that every child has a unique voice that deserves to be heard. Some of these voices include traditional speech and some include a total communication approach. My journey into Speech-Language Pathology began with a simple love for working with children of all ages and profiles—whether as a camp counselor, parent, music teacher, or Girl Guide leader. Today, that same passion drives my practice.

Beyond the clinical labels, I see the child behind the communication challenge. I am a firm believer in advocacy and partnership, and I look forward to working with you to help your child navigate their world with confidence. Having lived and worked in the Hamilton-Wentworth and Haldimand regions for over 25 years, I am proud to offer my services to support our diverse community

Clinical Excellence Since 1999

With a College Diploma from Georgian College as a Communicative Disorders Assistant and a Master of Health Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of Toronto, my career has been defined by a deep commitment to both assessment and intervention as well as public education, clinical education, and private clinical practice. I have served in diverse roles—from Manager and Literacy Consultant to school-based specialist—allowing me to see the 'big picture' of a child’s development and to truly understand all the facets of a child and the systems that support them.

I have spent years serving as a preceptor and supervisor for institutions like the University of Toronto, McMaster, UBC, and Georgian College; helping train the next generation of speech and language professionals and paraprofessionals.

With decades of experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, including EAs to professionals and institutional stakeholders, you benefit from high-level professional development with an understanding of varied needs for your child, with appropriate referrals and recommendations provided.

My Clinical Focus Includes:

Speech: Articulation, Phonology, Fluency (stuttering), and Apraxia of Speech.

Language: Expressive and Receptive language needs (comprehension and use of language)

Literacy and Phonological Awareness: Enhancing and building the bridge between oral language, reading, and writing.

Neurodiversity-Affirming Care: Specialized support for Autism and social communication.

I also believe in giving back to the Speech and Language community through providing Clinical Education.
